If you love interiors, unique home styling and discovering pieces that feel a little bit different from what everyone else has, then I honestly cannot recommend the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead enough.

I visited for the first time this week and came away completely blown away by the scale of it all.
I knew there would be art galleries and exhibitors there, but I was not prepared for quite how huge the fair actually was, or the incredible range of styles, artists and price points on offer.

From oversized abstract canvases and textured neutral pieces to colourful contemporary works, sculpture, photography and quirky statement art, there really was something for every taste and every type of home.
As someone who is always talking about creating a bespoke home on a budget, this felt like the perfect event for my interiors and lifestyle world. It fits so naturally into that idea that your home should feel personal, layered and interesting, without needing an unlimited budget to achieve it.
What Is the Affordable Art Fair?

The Affordable Art Fair has actually been running since 1999 and was created with the aim of making art more accessible to everyday buyers rather than feeling intimidating or exclusive.
The fairs showcase thousands of contemporary artworks from galleries around the world, with pieces available across a wide range of budgets. The idea is that buying original art should feel approachable and enjoyable, whether you are a serious collector or simply looking for one beautiful piece for your home.

One of the things I loved most was that it did not feel stuffy or pretentious. The atmosphere was really welcoming and relaxed, and there were people browsing at every level, from interior lovers looking for inspiration to collectors purchasing larger statement works.
The fair takes place in multiple locations throughout the year, including London venues such as Hampstead Heath and Battersea Park, alongside international editions in cities across Europe, Asia, Australia and the US.
Why I Think It Works So Well for Interiors Lovers
If you follow me over on Instagram at Claire Douglas Styling, you will know I am a huge believer that homes look their best when they feel collected rather than copied.

Art is one of the easiest ways to make a space feel unique and personal.
You can completely transform a room with:
- one oversized statement piece
- an interesting gallery wall
- textured mixed-media artwork
- bold colour accents
- vintage-inspired prints
- sculptural pieces or ceramics
What I loved about the fair was seeing so many different styles under one roof. It is actually incredibly useful from an interiors inspiration point of view, even if you are not planning to buy anything immediately.
I came away full of ideas for colour palettes, framing styles, textures and layout inspiration that could easily translate into real homes on real budgets.
Affordable Things to Do in London That Still Feel Special

One thing I am always trying to share on my blog is affordable days out in London that still feel inspiring and memorable, and this absolutely fits into that category.
A lot of London events can feel very expensive once you factor in travel, food and tickets, but like my 5 free things to do along the Southbank, Chelsea in Bloom and St Martin in the fields the Affordable Art Fair genuinely feels like a worthwhile experience if you love creativity, interiors and design.
It is the sort of event where you can spend hours wandering around slowly, discovering new artists and soaking up inspiration.
I also think it is ideal if you:
- love home styling
- are renovating or redecorating
- want inspiration for colour schemes
- enjoy gallery visits
- are looking for more unique home decor
- want to support independent artists
- are trying to make your home feel less “flatpack showroom” and more individual
My Top Finds at the Affordable Art Fair
These were my favourite artist discoveries from the whole fair. They were new to me so in case they are to you too I’ve pulled a bit of info about them from their online bios along with pics of my fave pieces…
Tal Nehoray – represented by Ronen Art Gallery

Tal Nehoray is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist whose work combines traditional artistic techniques with modern materials and pop art influences. Originally from Rome and now based in Israel, her pieces often explore themes around consumer culture, happiness and mindfulness through bold colour, texture and sculptural form. I was particularly drawn to the playful yet calming quality of her work, which felt both contemporary and uplifting, while still making a statement in an interiors setting.
Russell West – exhibited with Woolff Gallery

Russell West creates striking three-dimensional artworks using layers of dried paint formed into sculptural compositions. His pieces are incredibly textured and almost architectural in appearance, with vivid colour combinations and dramatic depth that immediately catch your eye across a gallery space. Seeing the work in person was fascinating because the layered paint surfaces create movement and shadows that photographs do not fully capture.
Diverso Art Gallery

Based in Peru, Diverso Art Gallery focuses on showcasing both emerging and established international artists across a range of contemporary styles. Their collection at the fair included beautifully expressive works spanning landscape, figurative and botanical themes, and the stand felt full of colour and personality. I loved the global feel of the gallery and the way the artwork brought warmth, texture and individuality into the space.
Mike Sefronio – shown by The Russell Gallery

Mike Sefronio’s work immediately stood out to me for its bold use of colour and expressive contemporary style. The pieces on display at the fair had a real energy to them and felt like the kind of artwork that could completely transform a room, especially in modern eclectic interiors where you want artwork to become the focal point of the space.
Óscar Estepa Marín

Óscar Estepa Marín is known for creating atmospheric contemporary works that blend realism with emotion and texture. His pieces felt incredibly layered and thoughtful, with a softness and depth that worked beautifully amongst the more abstract collections at the fair. I found his work particularly interesting from an interiors perspective because the muted tones and painterly style would work so effortlessly in calm, neutral spaces while still adding character and interest.

Top Tips If You Visit
A few things I would recommend if you are thinking about visiting in future:
Wear comfortable shoes
The fair is much bigger than you expect and there is a lot of walking.
Take photos for inspiration
Even if you are not buying art, it is brilliant for gathering interiors ideas.
Go with an open mind
Some of my favourite pieces were styles I would not normally search for online.
Think about scale
Seeing artwork in person really helps you understand sizing and impact in a way online shopping just cannot.
Do not assume everything is unaffordable
There genuinely are pieces at lots of different price points.
